Never Too Young. Never Too Old.
Never too young and never too old!
What we love most about sharing our Highland cattle with visitors to our Highland House Farm Stay and day tours in Plainfield, Vermont is the diversity of people we get to meet. All ages, from all over the country and the world, with one thing in common--their love of Highland cattle and their desire to comb and cuddle these long haired, long horned majestic beasts. You never have to ask someone to smile for the camera when they are near a Highland cow or calf!
Whether it is a special grandmother/granddaughter outing, a birthday celebration, a sister rendezvous, a boyfriend hoping to win points with his girlfriend, those who miss farming from their childhood or those never having set foot on a farm, a multi-generational get-together, a father/daughter event, an anniversary recognition, or a family beginning to make plans to start their own farm, what unites almost everyone who visits Highland House Farm Stay and those who schedule a day tour is the uniqueness and magic of this ancient heritage breed. With Shat Acres being the oldest registered fold of Highland cattle in the US, we have been enchanted with these bovines ourselves for sixty years and feel blessed to have the opportunity to introduce and share the peace and comfort they bring with others.
A bit delinquent posting photos of our quests at Shat Acres, here are some of the August and September visitors to our farm. I’ll try to do better posting the joy Highlands bring to their admirerers more often!
