Purveyors of Peace and Joy

Peeka, our mini-Holstein, wagged her tail into the hearts of so many and was repeatedly proclaimed the cutest animal at the Fair.

Zora, our Highland/Beef Shorthorn Cow, bellowed incessantly but was forgiven for her loudmouth by vacuuming apples fed to her by visitors who grinned and giggled.

Brandy Boo, Zeus, and baby Cassandra not only charmed everyone with their cuteness but got an extra dose of socializing with halter training, getting used to strollers, wheelchairs, babies and senior citizens helping them to be ready to move to their forever homes.

Shat Acres Raisin Pie and 12-week-old twins William and Wallace aced Shat Acres’ 53rd year sharing a Cow and Calf(s) with McDonalds Farm. Wallace accomplished a first by escaping the pen when the gate was opened to allow someone in to clean the pen. Not really wanting to be away from brother William and momma Pie, he was quickly caught and returned to his family. William laid his head into a supporting palm while having his chin scratched and promptly fell asleep. William and Wallace won honors as the most docile calves ever to grace the red-boarded pen at McDonalds Farm.

Another Champlain Valley Fair in the books! The cattle, Peeka, and their people were happy to bring smiles to the thousands of visitors to the 2025 Fair, but tired and relieved to return home after the last day of the Fair. But have no fear, after we reboot for a few days, we’ll start planning for, and dreaming about, next year’s Best Ten Days of Summer!
